Meet Your Austin Periodontist,
Dr. Omar Al Bayati
Dr. Bayati officially became a Texan when he moved from Peoria, Arizona, to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at UT Health-San Antonio. Dr. Bayati, his wife, Zeinab, and two daughters, Fatima and Mariam, used to visit Austin regularly while living in San Antonio. They fell in love with the area and decided to make Austin home upon his completion of specialty training in 2020. After practicing as a periodontist and oral surgeon for three years, Dr. Bayati finally decided to take the leap and open his own patient-centered practice that provides high-quality, accessible dental care to all Austinites.
Dr. Bayati had considerable experience as a restorative dentist before he decided to pursue a periodontics residency at The University of Colorado. It was there that he mastered skills in both periodontal and implant surgery. Dr. Bayati is a board-certified periodontist, a diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontics, and he enjoys being an active member of many professional communities. He is also an associate fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
Dr. Bayati has spoken at a variety of local and international professional conferences and has had several publications published in peer-reviewed, high-impact journals like the Journal of Oral Implantology (JOI) and the Journal of Periodontology (JOP).

Our office uses state-of-the-art technology to keep our services effective and efficient for our patients. Digital X-rays, for example, capture high-quality images that can be viewed by our team almost instantly, and they emit up to 80% less radiation than traditional X-rays, making them a safer alternative for our patients and staff.
Our office also utilizes 3D panoramic dental X-rays, also known as Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), to create a three-dimensional view of the entire oral and maxillofacial region. CBCT scans offer detailed images of the teeth, jawbone, nerve pathways, and other anatomical structures. This advanced imaging is particularly valuable for complex dental procedures, such as dental implant placement and diagnosing impacted teeth. It allows our team to assess bone density and volume accurately and identify potential issues that may not be visible with traditional X-rays.
